Une agriculture plus raisonn\u00e9e moins gourmande en intrants (engrais, produits phytosanitaires\u2026) respectant les sols et surtout innovante pour <strong>consommer moins d&#8217;eau<\/strong> sur une surface donn\u00e9e doit vite \u00e9merger. Les nouvelles g\u00e9n\u00e9rations de producteurs n&#8217;auront pas le choix que de s&#8217;adapter aux changements climatiques et \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9volution des environnements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aujourd&#8217;hui sur la plan\u00e8te, les surfaces produites sous serre en <strong>culture hors-sol<\/strong> (utilisation de substrat et\/ou culture hydroponique) augmentent de mani\u00e8re soutenue. Un exemple frappant est que pour un 1kg de tomates produites en champ on utilise environ 60L d&#8217;eau sans parler des nombreux passages de tracteur pour traiter les cultures\u2026 Dans une serre la consommation moyenne se limite \u00e0 environ <strong>15L d&#8217;eau pour des rendements jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 5 fois sup\u00e9rieurs<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/p-cdn.grodan.com\/siteassets\/downloads\/downloads-en\/whitepapers-en\/grodan_passion-for-a-better-future-booklet2.pdf?f=20211217140028\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>source GRODAN<\/em><\/a>) pour la tomate avec la possibilit\u00e9 d&#8217;implanter des auxiliaires de culture pour combattre les ravageurs (lutte biologique) et aussi polliniser les fleurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De plus, les <strong>derni\u00e8res technologies<\/strong> disponibles chez les fabricants de substrats de culture combin\u00e9es avec les nouvelles techniques d&#8217;irrigation et de gestion climatique dans les serres permettent d&#8217;\u00eatre encore plus \u00e9conome et cela pendant toute l&#8217;ann\u00e9e. Il sera donc plus difficile de pr\u00e9dire les rendements et la qualit\u00e9 des cultures d&#8217;une ann\u00e9e \u00e0 l&#8217;autre avec le risque de connaitre des <strong>\u00e9pisodes climatiques extr\u00eames<\/strong> comme nous risquons de le voir de plus en plus dans le futur\u2026 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&#8217;appauvrissement et l&#8217;\u00e9rosion des sols sont aussi des contraintes majeurs notamment en monoculture. Des cultures plus <strong>vuln\u00e9rables<\/strong> seront plus sensibles \u00e0 la pression des ravageurs et maladies. C&#8217;est un <strong>cercle vicieux<\/strong> qui demandera une action rapide avec des traitements chimiques dans la plupart des cas. En plus de l&#8217;impact sur l&#8217;environnement et la sant\u00e9 des consommateurs cela repr\u00e9sentera des co\u00fbts importants pour l&#8217;exploitant agricole. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>\u00c9conomies en eau<\/strong> <strong>majeures<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&#8217;\u00e9volution des techniques de production ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es notamment avec la culture hydroponique (hors-sol) a permis de faire d&#8217;\u00e9normes<strong> \u00e9conomies en eau<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De plus, cela participe \u00e0 la protection des sols et des r\u00e9serves d&#8217;eau (nappes aquif\u00e8res) lorsque les lixiviats sont bien capt\u00e9s (voire recycl\u00e9s) plut\u00f4t que diss\u00e9min\u00e9s dans l&#8217;environnement. En bref, tout sera r\u00e9fl\u00e9chit pour apporter la<strong> <strong>quantit\u00e9<\/strong><\/strong> <strong>optimale<\/strong> <strong>en eau<\/strong> avec la concentration en engrais la mieux adapt\u00e9e. La solution nutritive en exc\u00e8s qui sera lixivi\u00e9e pourra aussi \u00eatre retrait\u00e9e dans le syst\u00e8me puis r\u00e9utilis\u00e9e apr\u00e8s filtration et \u00e9limination des germes. Les pertes en eau seront donc minimales dans ce syst\u00e8me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un autre point important est que la culture en serre offre une <strong>grande surface <\/strong>avec la toiture pour <strong>capter les eaux de pluie <\/strong>et les stocker dans des r\u00e9servoirs semi ou compl\u00e9tement enterr\u00e9s. La protection des cultures et les \u00e9conomies en eau sont<strong> deux avantages de taille<\/strong> de ce mod\u00e8le de production. De plus, cela facilitera les investissements des institutions financi\u00e8res et la p\u00e9rennisation des rendements pour le producteur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Toutefois, la culture sous serre se doit de <strong>cohabiter<\/strong> avec la culture plein champs qui fait aussi partie de la solution plus particuli\u00e8rement pour les c\u00e9r\u00e9ales et prot\u00e9agineux comme le ma\u00efs et le soja. La culture en champ va aussi \u00e9voluer, l&#8217;<strong>agro\u00e9cologie <\/strong>va devenir le courant de pens\u00e9e et le mod\u00e8le du futur pour pouvoir continuer de produire \u00e0 grandes \u00e9chelles tout en respectant l&#8217;\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me avec une diversification plus forte des cultures tout en respectant les sols. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour finir, l&#8217;<strong>essor des petites et moyennes exploitations<\/strong> avec une ou deux serres et moins d&#8217;un hectare de culture plein champ feront aussi parties des solutions pour gagner en r\u00e9silience de partout sur la plan\u00e8te.
